From Our Poet, Carter Berry, Honoring Susie Robinson Walker

"Now, isn't this the most clever thing Carter Berry wrote per a request by Miss JJ, even if I do say so myself. I was so surprised when Carter got up there on Saturday night..so this is for all those who didn't get to hear Carter present his original poem on the Red Pen, here it is, with much thanks to C, and JJ, as I love clever..You are going to like this Jeri and Stevie.."srw

    Ballad of the RED PEN LADY

"Party in a box", or so she says,
But even she got "nailed," *
in her younger days.
She says "Mercy", but has none.
I'm of course referring,
to the RED PEN one.

She swiftly strikes, out of the blue,
It may be me; it may be you;
It may be spelling;maybe grammar;
Dicey language, or subject matter.

You have to think before you "SEND",
There's always fear of being "RED PENNED".
It's all in fun, of course you see.
That's why we love her, don't you agree?
SuSie, SuSie,SuSie-you're a real delight,
So put away the "Red Pen"
at least for the night.
